About Us

The thing that sets BAIR Necessities apart from its competitors is owner Terry Bair's integrity and foresight. It was he, for example, who recognized more than 20 years ago the potential of GEOTHERMAL HVAC systems. He was so convinced then, as now, that these technologies were the future of the industry that he became one of the first technicians in this area to certify in their installation and maintenance. Now that the GEOTHERMAL era is upon us in earnest, Terry’s expertise and real-world experience with these systems provides BAIR Necessities with a significant competitive advantage.

BAIR Necessities is an atypical blend of old-fashioned, family-owned business and forward-thinking, environmentally-progressive corporation. Its owners, Terry and his wife, Karen Bair, grew up within a few blocks of each other in Crofton, Maryland, and play active roles in the company's daily operations. Terry meets with architects and engineers, provides homeowners with sensible, cost-effective solutions to their HVAC problems and oversees installation and repair crews. Karen manages the hectic office, acting as the communications conduit that keeps things organized and running smoothly.

What BAIR Necessities' customers appreciate most about Terry and Karen, however, is their genuine concern for their best interests. Simply put, the Bairs are good, spiritually-based people who let their actions bear witness to their core values of honesty and fair dealing. Terry lives his values by always answering his phone. "You would be surprised how often customers tell me that I'm the only HVAC guy that they can get a hold of," he said. "I'll be honest; sometimes I don't want to answer the phone, but I always do. It's the way I would want to be treated."

"This is not what we do," Karen said, glancing at Terry with a grin, "it's who we are."
